It is awarded by the German approval body for construction products and types of construction (Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik, DIBt) in Berlin and is thus also valid for railway-specific applications. The scope of the DIBt approval has recently been expanded. See News, “Expansion of the DIBt approval as a monitoring and certification body in accordance with the German state building regulations”.
