In case of a fire, the fire department is there in an instant to help. When using extinguishing water from the drinking water network, many aspects have to be considered. Yesterday, considerable manufacturers of fire engines came to Applus+ IMA Dresden GmbH to attend the respective work group of the VDMA focusing on drinking water protection in fire engines according to DIN 14502-2. After the meeting, the participants learned more about pipes and pipe system testing, automotive testing, environment simulation und electrical strength assessment.
Hopefully none of us will find themselves in a situation, when they have to call the fire department. But it is very reassuring to know, how conscientiously the vehicles are designed, built and continuously developed.
