Congratulations to our graduate Julian Mai! He has successfully completed his training as a material tester specializing in metal technology and has become the best German exam participant in his apprenticeship. On 16 October 2017, Julian Mai was honored in a ceremony at the IHK Dresden honoring the best graduates an in November, he will even receive the award as federal best, together with four other Dresdners. IMA Dresden has been an accredited inspection body Type A as per DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012 and certification body as per DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065:2013 by the German accreditation Body (Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle GmbH DAkkS). These are valid for the monitoring and certification of pipes and pipework systems for water and gas supplies and wastewater disposal as well as construction products, product groups and construction components. In the course of re-accreditation, the scope of approval has been widened to cover:

The German Railway Authority (Eisenbahn-Bundesamt, EBA) has confirmed the DIBt’s approval of IMA Dresden as a testing, monitoring and certification body also for railway-specific construction products, construction types, components and construction methods. The DIBt approval is a general building authority approval for monitoring and certification bodies in accordance with German state building regulations. It is awarded by the German approval body for construction products and types of construction (Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik, DIBt) in Berlin and is thus also valid for railway-specific applications. IMA Dresden has expanded its general building authority approval as a monitoring and certification body in accordance with German state building regulations, as awarded by the German approval body for construction products and types of construction (Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik, DIBt) in Berlin, to cover the following construction products:

  • “Plastic pipework systems with pipes with profiled pipe walls and smooth pipe surfaces made of plasticizer-free polyvinyl chloride (PVC-U) used for conveying wastewater inside buildings” (No. 12.1.26)
