Since already 2011 IMA Dresden is NADCAP accredited for non-metallic material testing (NMMT). This month IMA Dresden was successful reaccredited.
NADCAP defines a standardized approach to quality assurance for all testing laboratories that work for the aerospace industry and leads to a reduction of supplier audits because Prime contractors, Suppliers and Government representatives have joined forces to develop the program. The stringent requirements require intensive expenses for process definition and validation of them. This includes besides the testing itself the preparation processes as specimen machining, specimen quality control, alignment verification and specimen instrumentation. During the audit all processes were monitored and evaluated.
As already in 2014 the current audit was passed without any non-conformances. This fulfils the requirements of the merit-program which extends the accreditation duration from original 12 month to now 24 month.
The accreditation scope of NMMT includes several mechanical testing methods, thermal testing methods and physical testing methods. Furthermore IMA is accredited for specimen manufacturing inclusive tabbing and cutting. With this scope all current and future aerospace customer can benefit from the highest quality of testing by IMA Dresden.
Furthermore this reaccreditation underlines the high quality approach of IMA Dresden for composite testing but also for all material and component testing divisions. Also the testing labs for metallic material testing are NADCAP accredited for MTL (Material Test Laboratories). With these 2 accreditations IMA Dresden is one of 18 laboratories worldwide that can offer testing with NADCAP NMMT and MTL accreditations. In Germany only one further lab can offer this quality standard. More >>
